Alison Boden, MPH, RDN
bio & education
Alison is a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist - a food and nutrition expert educated and trained in using food to prevent, reverse and manage disease. Specializing in the integrative and functional medicine approaches to health and wellness, she believes that the foundation for optimal health and healing begins with a health promoting diet. Her approach to health and wellness is based on finding the root cause of any issue - from digestive problems, diabetes, infertility, chronic pain and even weight management, there is more to everyone's story than simply managing the symptoms. Getting to the root is key in finding longterm success.
In addition to an online private practice, Alison spent many years seeing patients at UCSF Student Health & Counseling, working with healthcare students on their own nutrition needs and helping them to manage their health and wellness. She also has a love for teaching and sharing her wisdom and expertise and worked as adjunct faculty at the University of San Francisco, where she taught nutrition in the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
Alison also has experience working with children and adults at Kaiser Permanente, athletes at CrossFit Potrero Hill, and with couples to enhance their chances at conception at Pacific Fertility Center. She has designed and conducted many nutrition lectures and events to varied audiences including corporate wellness talks and cooking classes.
She earned a Master of Public Health and the qualifications to sit for the national Registered Dietitian exam from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, and has earned credits toward a Doctorate of Clinical Nutrition in Functional Nutrition at Maryland University of Integrative Health. Alison is a member of Dietitians in Integrative and Functional Medicine and Dietitians for Professional Integrity.
She is also mom to a happy, healthy, curious and busy toddler with another little one on the way.
